The smartphone market is evolving daily. Companies are using the latest technologies to make the best devices for consumers. But with new technologies, mobile phones of newer generations are coming with more heating issues. In this article, we will learn how to solve the heating issues on smartphones.
Smartphones and Their Heating Issues in 2024:
In 2024, the smartphone industry has changed a lot. All the big companies are trying to provide cutting-edge tech on their devices. But the heating issue is increasing daily. Most surprisingly, the flagship devices get hotter than the mid-budget and normal devices nowadays.
The optimal temperature of mobile phones is considered to be 35-38 degrees Celsius. However, our test showed that most of the flagship devices of 2023 and 2024 show a 40-degree+ temperature in moderate use. Besides, the temperature of the mid-range devices also gets high with moderate to high use.
There are many reasons behind this. Some flagship processors, like Google’s Tensor, can’t manage the heat properly. Apple’s iPhone 15 series has also shown overheating issues because of the performance-oriented chips. Smartphones show heating issues due to Faulty processors, bad ventilation, software bugs, battery issues, and more.
How to Solve Overheating Issues of Smart Phones?
If you have bought a device that overheats, you can follow certain tips to solve these problems. Here are some tips:
Avoid Sunlight:
Try to avoid direct sunlight on your phone. Most of the devices get hot when you keep them under direct sunlight. In our recent test on iPhone 15’s test, the device gives notifications in increased heat while taking photos under direct sunlight.
Don’t Use your device while Charging:
Nowadays, most devices have fast charging technologies. Some of Xiaomi’s devices even charge from 0 to 100% in only 17-20 minutes. However, the devices get hot during the process, as the battery uses a lot of power in a short amount of time. If you use the device while charging, it will become extra hot. So, try to avoid using your mobile phones while charging.
Avoid Using Third party and Low-Grade Chargers:
Many of us spend hundreds of dollars to buy a flagship device. But while buying chargers, we hesitate to take a certified and good charger, spending an extra few bucks. In 2024, most of the devices won’t come with chargers in the box. Suppose you don’t use chargers, which are recommended by the manufacturer. In that case, there will be an imbalance between electricity intake and charging capability. As a result, the device will get warmer. The battery health of your device will decrease significantly if you do so.
Turn Off Unused Functions:
Many smartphone users forget to turn off various functions after using them. Always turn off the wi-fi and Bluetooth functions after using them. These functionalities increase the temperature of your device by running in the background.
Use wi-fi over Mobile Data:
In 2024, people spend most of their time on social media and web browsers. For that, they have to turn on their phone’s internet connection. From our recent tests on multiple devices, we saw that most smartphones get hotter while surfing the internet using mobile data. Try to use wi-fi every time it’s available.
Always Clear Background Apps:
If you keep apps in the background, your phone may get warmer over time. An increased number of background apps uses more RAM on your device. Besides, some background apps consume power and make your battery warmer. So, try to turn off all unnecessary apps from the background.
